What will you do? Carpool is looking for an ambitious Director of Finished Vehicle Logistics to lead the growth of business partnerships with automotive manufacturers. You will be responsible for creating and implementing proposals to efficiently ship vehicles from plants, ports, railheads, and service centers to end customers and dealerships while ensuring strict damage prevention standards. You will drive business development efforts, expanding relationships with OEMs and other key stakeholders in the Finished Vehicle Logistics ecosystem.
In addition to collaborating with OEM executives to support their supply chain initiatives, you will be responsible for building and developing a high-performing team to execute these strategies. As a leader, you will oversee day-to-day operations, improve processes, and develop customer-focused strategies. Responsibilities:
- Business Development
- Business Development: Drive the growth of partnerships with automotive manufacturers by identifying new opportunities and expanding relationships within the Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) ecosystem. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, manage a client portfolio, increase brand awareness, and achieve revenue goals through the full sales pipeline.
- Customer-Focused Strategy: Collaborate directly with OEM executives to support their supply chain initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer needs.
- Proposal Creation & Implementation: Develop, design, and implement proposals to efficiently ship vehicles from plants, ports, railheads, and service centers to dealerships and customers, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to damage prevention standards.
- Operations Management
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team to execute FVL strategies, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of FVL team, overseeing the execution of shipments, and ensuring smooth, efficient operations.
- Systems Integrations: Collaborate with the internal and external stakeholders to establish API systems integrations.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance operational processes, identifying areas for efficiency gains and implementing solutions to streamline operations.
- Compliance & Standards Management: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and damage prevention standards throughout the FVL process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, sales, and operations to align initiatives, goals, and deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of automotive experience.
- Logistics/transportation experience preferred.
- In person in Atlanta preferred but open to remote.
- Effective communication and leadership skills with ability to work cross-functionally.
- Strategic thinker with ability to deliver creative programs and solutions.
- Passion for building customer relationships.
- Creative problem-solving, detail oriented and strong organization skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel.
